The show takes place near the end of each episode of Sesame Street. Elmo's World is a room that is made from crayons, including the door, drawer, shade, piano, and other furniture. He is joined by his goldfish Dorothy. Each episode, Elmo thinks about a simple certain subject (e.g. babies, computers, violins, bananas, balls, shoes, etc) and asks questions as well as learn about them. He has Mr. Noodle (sometimes Mr. Noodle's Brother, Mr. Noodle and Miss Noodle) to try to demonstrate how to do certain things with the subject of the day. Afterwards, kids show what they do with the subject and/or object. Then, Elmo asks a baby (usually accompanied by a parent) how to do the subject/object. Cartoons via songs or stories based on the subject of the day are also shown via an animated TV. In later seasons, an animated computer shows video emails of Elmo's friends showing the subject of the day. After that, there would be a real-life film of somebody doing the subject of the day and home videos as well. Then, an object related to the subject of the day would talk to Elmo, followed by Dorothy imagining Elmo in various situations. Finally, he plays and sings on his piano based on the subject of the day to the tune of "Jingle Bells".
