Rosie is Red is the twenty-second episode of the twenty-second series.

Plot

It is Valentine's Day on Sodor, and Diesel, Bill and Ben tease Thomas and Rosie about loving each other. Thomas and Rosie try to stay away from each other to stop anyone else from teasing them, but Sir Topham Hatt's newest special for them makes it quite a challenge.

  • At the end of the episode, Thomas mentions the events of the twentieth series episode, Henry in the Dark, and the eighteenth series episode, Millie and the Volcano. Stock footage from both episodes are used.
  • The title of this episode is a reference to the first verse of the phrase, "Roses are Red".
  • This is the series' first Valentine's Day episode.
  • This marks the fourth time an engine is seen with an item in their mouth. In this case, Thomas caught a rose in his teeth, similar to a Flamenco dancer.
  • This is the second episode to be focusing on both Thomas and Rosie. First being Rosie's debut in the tenth series.
  • This episode marks the last time where Percy lacks his Series 23 details.
